The United States military generates code names for military operations through the use of the Code Word, Nickname, and Exercise Term System which is itself is nicknamed "NICKA".

The Cimmerians Airsoft Association uses its own proprietary system to generate its operation code names.  The CAA's nicknaming system is called CICKA, and it utilizes a database of over 5,000 actual words from the nicknames of past US military operations which were generated by the classified governmental NICKA system.

The re-enactment community is welcome to use the CAA's nickname system for non-commercial use.
