This SOP describes the process for CImmerian elections.

Elections will follow this procedure. It has been engineered  by command to be in compliance with provisions of the By-Laws.

A. Nominations-

1. Nominations will be accepted from the general membership for 5 days. (No self nomination) They will be sent to elections@cimmerians.org .   Nominations are open for the following offices-

    Captain

    XO

    S4 NCOIC Log/Finance

    CimCom Staff NCO 6 positions possible See ORG Chart

2. Nominations must be seconded by a current CimCom member.

3. The individual must accept the Nomination and satisfy the 6/12 participation requirement for the last 2 callendar years. See eligibility list below.  Nominations will be accepted from 14dec04 to 20dec04.  Acceptance must be sent directly to S1 @at this address elections@cimmerians.org .

4.  An individual can be nominated for more than one post. For example XO and  CimCom Staff NCO. They would assume the highest office they were elected to. We do not have enough candidates  to do otherwise. We need 9 candidates to comply with our By-Laws.

5. Each nominee may write a 300 word (maximum) message on "Why I want to assume this responsibility". These will be submitted to S1 no later than 26Dec04. These messages must be completely positive any citical/divisive sections will be summarily edited by the NCOIC-S1. Further politicing beyond these messages is not acceptable. Messages will be sent to and posted by S1 no later than 26Dec04 in time for the voting period.
Late messages will not be posted.

B. Election

1.   An email ballot will be sent to all voting members.  The completed email will be sent back to the Election Judge. Voting will begin on  27dec04 and end on 5Jan05.

2.  T he votes will be tabulated  at the Annual Meeting, to be scheduled w/in 30days of the election close.

3. New officers assume office 1 month after election.

Relevant By-Laws Sections -

6.2

Any club members who have been an Active member for the last two years and have participated in at least 6 games per calendar year in the last two years are eligible to run for officer.

6.3

Officers shall be elected annually by the membership using an e-mail ballot method.   Votes will be counted at the annual meeting.

6.4

Each elected Officer shall serve for a term of one year

6.5

Each officer cannot serve for more than 3 consecutive years.  After a one-year hiatus, a person who has served as an officer may run again.

8.10   

All club matters will be decided by a CimCom vote with the following exceptions, game rules, amendments, new members, purchases of more that $500, and major website changes, which shall be decided by a club e-vote.

9.10

All administrative positions shall be appointed by CimCom except S-4 “Finance Officer”, which shall be elected by the general membership.
